A special thank you to the Wong family for visiting us on Monday afternoon!

We were lucky enough to have Caleb's family visit us to share some of their Chinese cultural traditions.

Caleb's Grandparents, parents and sisters all came in to Piako Rua to share some of their traditions from China.

These are special envelopes that are given as a gift with money in them. The colour of the envelope is significant.

Each one of us got an envelope with a coin in it. (A chocolate coin!!!)

Caleb and his sister are wearing traditional dress as well as his grandparents. The dragon is a popular decoration.

And lastly, we were treated to a lesson on how to use chopsticks while eating prawn chips and vegetable spring rolls.

It was an amazing experience for us to learn about some of the traditions from China and we appreciate all the effort that went into preparing and sharing their culture with us.
